• Olathe, KansasThis 3-6 month temporary position’s primary purpose is to provide support to the Shipping supervisor and other departmental personnel. The incumbent will coordinate with Materials Planning, Stores and Crating to ensure material is ready for shipment when requested. Once the shipment is ready the incumbent will load the handling unit data into SAP and coordinate with the carriers to ensure on-time shipments and deliveries. The incumbent is responsible for a variety of clerical duties relevant to the supporting role. These clerical duties include but are not limited to maintaining files, responding to internal customer requests, coordinating with carriers, and other responsibilities as assigned. The successful incumbent has a strong organizational and communication skills, is highly motivated, works well with others, is detail-oriented, and manages tasks efficiently so urgent requests are handled promptly.
ACTIVITIES/TASKS/SCOPE
- Coordinating with Order Administrators, Material Managers, Project Management, and carriers for the Olathe plant’s outbound shipments
- Respond to internal customer requests (via email and phone calls)
- Assist with file and compliance projects
- Contact freight companies and suppliers as needed (status reporting and expediting)
- Provide support to Logistics Manager by assisting in coding freight invoices and other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school degree preferred
- 1-3 years of experience
CERTIFICATION/OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Hazardous Material certification for awareness of hazardous material and regulations helpful
- Knowledge of domestic and international transportation terms and document helpful
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Knowledge of SAP
- Working knowledge of fax, scanner, and copy machines
