Shelter Veterinarian Job Opening

Open-admission animal shelter with a NEW state-of-the-art 13,000 sq. ft facility in Gray, LA seeking a Shelter Veterinarian to perform medical treatment and services including surgery for shelter animals. Works approximately 25-30 hours per week Monday-Friday. Requires the availability for emergency phone consultations and minimal after-hour emergency visits to the shelter. Maintains the health of the shelter animals including health evaluations, vaccinations, diagnostics, treatment, dentals, spay/neuter (including pediatric) and other minor surgeries, etc. Assists with developing and maintaining medical protocols and policies/procedures as requested. Must be able to handle a heavy workload, be motivated to enhance the lives of stray and unwanted animals, and work proficiently and independently with the assistance of an experienced veterinary technician. Salary negotiable.
