At Medical West, the Phlebotomist enthusiastically collects blood specimens from patients by accurately performing venipunctures, heelsticks and fingersticks according to physician orders. The Phlebotomist then distributes the specimens to the proper Laboratory area in a timely fashion while maintaining accurate logs and acting in a clerical duty as needed.
Required Skills
Must be highly motivated for success and detailed orientated for the safety of our patients. Basic computer and reasoning skills are required and success in the role is dependent upon proper technique, timeliness of services, and thoroughness of tasks.
Required Experience
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Registered Phlebotomist by Registry of the American Medical Technologists or equivalent, and / or Certified Medical Assistant is preferred.
