Job Summary: The Victim Advocate will provide advocacy services for a diverse population of students, faculty and staff who are victims of interpersonal violence.
Additional Department Summary: This position will be part-time (20 hours per week). The position will provide advocacy and case management services, R-client database entry, on-call crisis intervention, and speaking engagements. The Victim Advocate will provide advocacy services for a diverse population of students, faculty and staff who are victims of interpersonal violence.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, human development, law, or education and two (2) years of experience working with students, women, or an advocacy program/agency; OR Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, human development, law, or education.
Skills and Knowledge: Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment and be able to function in a crisis. Must have excellent human relations skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to work with diverse populations. Word processing skills. Must have flexible hours and be willing to work nights and weekends when required.
