The goal of Aging Nurses in the Department of Human Services is to ensure that applicants are recieving appropriate assistance and services required for them to stay in their homes safely, as opposed to living in a nursing home. The schedules are 8 hour days anytime between 7am and 6pm (but must include 9am-4pm) Monday through Friday. Of course, this also depends on the needs of the office and supervisory approval. Weekends and state holidays are off.

Monthly Salary: $4,105.08

BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION

This Registered Nurse position fulfills medical eligibility assessments for Title 19 nursing home admissions, State Plan Personal Care and ADvantage Waiver applications. Completes a thorough evaluation of medical level of care eligibility for each applicant.

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS
Home visits to determine medical needs of applicants.
Completes comprehensive assessment with applicant to determine medical eligibility for long term care programs.
Assists with Adult Protective Services evaluations as requested.

*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA's)
*KSAs required include: the knowledge, skills and ability to analyze complex health concerns and issues, including the evaluation of adherence to established health care standards and the effectiveness of health management plans and/or programs and recommending changes or revisions. Employees have a high degree of independence in planning and completing work assignments and may function as the lead person on some special projects. Also requires professional nursing knowledge in reviewing, auditing and analyzing nursing and health care services provided by direct care providers to insure that the appropriate health care resources are used at the appropriate level to meet the health care needs of clients.

*PREFERRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
*Requirements at this level consist of possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or Registered Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) and three years of professional nursing experience.

Preference may be given to applicants with one year of experience with long term care assessment and planning.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATE
Must have an R.N. license in good standing with Oklahoma Board Nursing
