General Description: This position is responsible for developing, optimizing, and managing monthly production, raw material needs, and inventory plans for designated product lines. Communicates with operating units to manage delivery of the production plan. Identifies opportunities for shortages and length of inventory and work with sales, logistics and operations teams to develop plans for mitigation. Identifies, drives, and leads projects and initiatives that improve or optimize asset operations and create new business optionality.


This position also manages direct reports responsible for customer and raw material vendors’ accounts and relations, as well as inbound/outbound logistics.


Roles and Responsibilities


Manages site raw material and finished product inventories and associated production planning.

  • Develop, optimize, and manage monthly PTA production, PIA Production, PX Production, and NDC production and inventory plans.
    • Communicates with operating units to manage delivery of the production plan incorporating timelines and priorities for unit outages.
    • Understands contract and agreement constraints for raw materials.
    • Generates raw material demand basis from planning tool to generate monthly and longer term order needs.
    • Responsible for formal nominations to customers and vendors for light aromatics (LA), heavy aromatics (HA), heavy aromatics bottoms (HAB), Acetic Acid, Mixed xylene(MiX), Orthoxylene(OX), Paraxylene(PX), Metaxylene (MX), Methanol, and Butadiene(BD), and Alke Fuel Blend to the required IVL corporate entity.
    • Provides monthly input to and analyze output of the value chain Linear Programming (LP) optimization model, including ad-hoc & what-if analyses, as well as owning the cost curve post audit process.
    • Maintains day-to-day point of contact within the business for manufacturing, logistics, and commercial service functions.
    • Provide input to the annual plan from a pricing, logistics, production, and export demand standpoint. Issue the monthly Master Production Schedule (MPS).
    • Minimizes losses due to unavailability through robust planning for planned maintenance and through re-optimization of the plan for unplanned events.
    • Develops operating plans short and long term (up to 5 years) with focus on opportunities related to TARs and other significant changes.

Leads and directs the Marine Scheduler, Account Coordinators and Freight Coordinators.

  • Ensures compliance with all aspects of Health, Safety, Process Safety, and Environment policies for the assigned area.
    • Responsible for ensuring the MOC process is followed in the assigned area
    • Develops short and long term operating strategies and tactics
    • Ensures compliance with ISO procedures
    • Analyzes staffing levels and makes recommendations regarding additions and deletions
    • f. Assists in competency development of team members

g. Understands site goals and objectives and works to ensure alignment within team

Provides development opportunities for team members

  • Assures completions of annual performance evaluations
  • j. Manages employee discipline when required.
  • Approves timecards for direct reports and approves overtime for assigned area

Education, Experience, Certifications Required:


  • BS Degree in Supply Chain & Logistics, Business, Engineering/technical discipline, or 10 years of comparable experience.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others to exceed their potential.
  • Strong communication, presentation and leadership skills.

Preferred Education, Experience, Certification:

  • Experience in supply chain and logistics – preferred
  • Experience in financial planning and forecasting – preferred
