Staffing Clerk - PRN (As Needed)

This position will cover vacations and call outs.

ROLE SUMMARY
Within the framework of the philosophy, objective, and the policies established by the department, and under the direction of Nursing Leadership (ARs, Managers, Directors) and has the responsibility of performing all staffing activities necessary for the Nursing Department.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develops an accurate daily (24 hour) staffing plan for all nursing units based on the established unit specific staffing criteria (matrix).
2. Collaborates and supports the members of the Health Care Team, (Clinical Nurse managers, House Supervisors, and nursing staff) when developing the staffing plan.
3. Demonstrates critical thinking skills in order to facilitate the staffing process.
4. Accurately communicates staffing issues to the Vice President of Nursing Service.
5. In collaboration with Nursing, Leadership and Staffing Coordinator, will educate and orient nursing personnel to the staffing process.

  • Good communication skills with staff, Supervisory/Clinical Nurse Manager, and co-workers.
  • Speaking clearly, answering telephones, computer skills.
  • Attention to details, ability to assess, evaluate, explain, teach, problem solve using critical thinking and perform calculations within the scope of duties

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Centralized staffing experience
