We are seeking experienced PACU RNs to join our Post Anesthesia Care team in our rural acute care hospital located in Waimea, Hawaii Island.

Position highlights:

Critical care knowledge-based team: Our PACU team is comprised of RNs with Critical Care nursing experience.

Level III Trauma Center: North Hawaii Community Hospital is the designated Level III Trauma Center for the North Hawaii region. Care is given to trauma patients of all ages in North Hawaii who would otherwise be diverted to trauma centers located over an hour or more away.

Care for our ‘ohana in our community: Our experienced and skilled surgical team are able to provide surgical services to North Hawaii patients in our community. Operating rooms can also be connected virtually to The Queen's Medical Center on Oahu for consultation, if needed.

Perpetuating the mission of our founders: To fulfill the intent of Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV to provide in perpetuity quality health care services to improve the well-being of Native Hawaiians and all of the people of Hawaii.

What you will do:

  • Provide high quality nursing care to our patients recovering from general, regional or local anesthesia.
  • Facilitates the delivery of excellent patient care in the perioperative setting by initiating and developing the perioperative plan of care, providing dynamic patient advocacy and clinical expertise within the framework of our core values of Compassion, Aloha, Respect and Excellence (CARE).

Requirements:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse, State of Hawaii
  • Nursing degree.
  • Current BLS/HCP, ACLS and PALS certification.
  • Minimum 2 years ICU RN experience or 2 years previous experience managing patients on vasopressors and ventilators within the last 5 years
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English effectively.

Preferences:

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
