You will:
- Monitor patients and report adverse reactions to medications or treatments to the Providers/ Supervising LPN.
- Share information with Supervising LPN and Doctors/Nurse Practitioner to help determine the best course of care.
- Measure vital signs such as height, weight, body temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respirations.
- Teach family members how to care for a patient or teach patients about good health habits.
- Update medical records/vaccination records based with information collected.
- Responsible for performing clinical tasks under direct supervision of a physician, such as rooming patients, checking vital signs,and authorizing prescription refills.
- Execute standing orders when necessary and appropriate.
- Collect samples for testing.
- Maintain CPR/PALS certification.
- Clean and sterilize instruments; inventory and order medical supplies and materials if advised by Supervising LPN
- Perform pre-physician screenings based on patient history and needs by obtaining personal medical data, including health history, current medications, reason for the visit, etc. and recording in medical record.
- Screen patient needs and review charts, labs and self-management goals in pre-visit chart review and schedule needed services prior to visit.
- Be involved in patient education, including clarifying procedures and testing to patients.
- Participate in team meetings on a regular basis about upcoming patient visits and other care initiatives..
- Assist with insurance forms, pre-authorizations and referrals, as needed.
- Provide direct or indirect patient care, requiring simple to complex nursing knowledge and skills.
- Administer vaccinations as needed.
- Establish IV access on occasion.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
You need:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in pediatrics
- Minimum of 1 year of health care or medical office experience preferred.
- Have a caring, sympathetic nature towards patients
- Good decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of patient service principles and practices.
- Good data entry and typing skills.
- Able to multitask in a fast paced environment.
- Strong communication skills a must.
Must have Pediatric nursing experience with knowledge of Immprint and CDC Vaccination Guidelines.
