Position Summary:
The clinic nurse provides direct and indirect care services that meet the psychological, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of the patient. Provides supportive measures to medical care providers in the management of direct and indirect care services.
Qualifications:
Must be graduate of an accredited school of nursing and possess a current license from the State of Minnesota OR must be a graduate from an accredited medical assistant program and possess a current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Assistants OR must be a graduate from an accredited surgical technologist program and possess current certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology. EXCEPTION: Medical Assistants without current certification and Medical/Surgical Technicians hired into a PSS position as such by this facility prior to January 1, 2009, are exempt from this requirement.
  • Must be able to meet facility required physical job requirements.
  • Must have current BLS healthcare provider certification.
Position Specific Expectations/Competencies:
1. Performs basic patient care duties considering needs specific to individual patients. Provides nursing support to providers in the delivery of patient care services.
2. Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate with other PSS and healthcare disciplines to provide patient-centered care.
3. Carries out specific nursing procedures within the scope of practice as ordered by medical staff. Serves as a patient advocate and a resource for all safety-related efforts and concerns. Ensures safety compliance with regulating agencies.
4. Demonstrates the ability to meet current documentation standards and GRHS policies. Follows consistent standard work processes to help eliminate defects in our care delivery that threaten patient care.
5. Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
Hours:
We currently have two .8 FTE openings for this role. This fully benefits eligible position is scheduled to work 64 hours per two week pay period. No weekend or holiday hours are associated with this role.
