Occupational Therapist / CHT Preferred Job Opening

Position Description

The Occupational Therapist will evaluate patients and devise an appropriate plan of care that will allow them to restore function, improve mobility and limit permanent disabilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and set appropriate treatment plans.
• Administer treatments to include: Therapeutic Exercises, Manual Therapy, Modalities and patient education.
• Confer with patients, Physicians and Case Managers on evaluation results, plan of care and expected outcomes.
• Perform patient documentation in the chart for each visit to report treatment, progress and prognosis.
• Attend and participate in all required staff meetings and in-services.
• Supervise Therapy Aides
• Assist front desk personnel as-needed for patient scheduling and customer service concerns.
• Maintain order, cleanliness and a professional atmosphere within the department.
• Responsible for the safeguarding of all patients in the Therapy Department.
• Responsible for maintaining HIPAA compliance at all times.
• Communicate with other departments as a team.

Education/Experience

• Graduated from an accredited college or university with a degree in Occupational Therapy
• Have required state mandated licenses in the state of Florida
• At least 1 year experience working as an Occupational Therapist
• Splinting experience preferred
• Certified in CPR
