Responsibilities

Provides services consistent with the Agency’s mission and philosophy. Provides quality, safe and effective personal care services to assigned patients based upon their individualized plan of care while following the Agency’s mission, policies, procedures and directives.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Frequent travel by car.
  • Subject to exposure to infection, contagious disease, combative patients, and potentially hazardous materials.
  • Environments may be unpredictable and not under the control of the Agency.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent skills.
  • Desired: Completion of a Home Care Aide Certification Class.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Required: None.
  • Desired: One (1) year nursing assistant, sitter or home care aide service.

LICENSES,CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:
  • Current Alabama Driver’s License.
  • Current automobile liability insurance.
  • Current certification for Home Care Aide service.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to perform limited to full range heavy work requiring sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
Must posses vision, hearing and physical dexterity necessary to maintain a driver’s license and operate an automobile.
Must be able to turn, lift, carry, and otherwise transport patients.
Must be able to climb stairs, access and operate elevators, and access patient’s homes which may not have conventional access accommodations.
Must be able to maneuver on all types of terrain.
Must possess vision, hearing and physical dexterity necessary to perform all the duties of a certified Home Care Aide.
Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Must be able to give and receive instructions and information, both in person and via telephone.
Work requires exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly in moving objects or materials.
