Requirements of the Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current registration license with the state Board of Nursing
Minimum of 1 year of long term or geriatric care experience
Knowledge of RAI (Resident Assessment Instrument) and the Care Plan Process
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team
Ability to follow the appropriate safety precautions
Effective verbal and written communication with all levels of management and employees
Maintain current CPR certification
Ability to stay focused, professional and calm under pressure
Reliable and dependable with good references
Pass a drug screen and background check

Responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN

Work under the direction of Physicians & RN's.
Provide care & treatment in accordance with Physician orders.
Ensure the health, comfort and safety of patients according to facility guidelines.
Comply with all state requirements and facility policies and procedures.
Perform all other duties as needed.
